Meet Samantha Jacobs

The Fertile Soul Clinical Excellence in Fertility Program (CEFP) -
The Fertile Soul community was formed by the author Randine Lewis, to bring Chinese medicine to a new level of integrity. Samantha Jacobs is currently enrolled in the program and is continuing the educational process of treating fertility.
What is CEFP?
The CEFP is a professional community of highly-skilled traditional Chinese medicine practitioners who specialize in helping couples overcome the diagnosis of infertility. These acupuncturists and herbalists follow The Fertile Soul program in their own lives and healing and in their approach to patient care.
CEFP members blend the best available therapeutic approaches from all medical and healing traditions – including Taoist, traditional Chinese, and modern treatment methods – to promote health of body, mind, and spirit. They excel in Chinese medical diagnosis and prescription of dietary and nutritional therapy, meditation, reproductive massage, acupuncture, and herbal medicine to support deep inner healing, enhance fertility and overcome reproductive and related dysfunction.
CEFP members receive continual support from The Fertile Soul and commit to ongoing education through conference call and online programs, patient retreat processes, practitioner seminars, and shared information. Members of this healing community keep abreast of the latest research and fertility-enhancing treatments, and collaborate to resolve complex patient cases. CEFP practitioners further commit to following The Fertile Soul's self-inquiry and healing methods themselves, which makes them particularly accomplished at assisting their patients with the complex physical, mental, and emotional issues surrounding their reproductive health.
There are presently more than 30 Charter Members of the CEFP. It is our community's wish that everyone facing the diagnosis of infertility have access to high quality, comprehensive care on an ongoing basis in their community, and through it, the best prospects for a successful fertility outcome. A growing network of TCM practitioners with expertise in restoring fertility increases the visibility of our profession and raise awareness among couples diagnosed with infertility of the range of options available to them, thereby empowering you with the information and hope you need to make the best choices for yourself.

Samantha Jacobs, L.Ac. is an acupuncturist specializing in treating women’s reproductive issues and pain management. Her practice is strongly focused on quality service, where the patient has her full attention.
Samantha spends time listening to my patients’ concerns and building a relationship with the client to help them heal. She believes the healing process is not as simple as placing needles in the patient, but helping them recognize the emotion physical connection and implementing changes in their life. Samantha views her practice as not an alternative to conventional care but resource where patients can find good advice and gentle treatments which supplement the care from a doctor.
Samantha has completed a six-year professional training program at Mercy College. Her training focused on extensive Chinese medicine theory and Western medical classes. The program placed importance on integrating Eastern and Western medicine. She did her internship work at Sound Shore Hospital in New Rochelle, NY and the Hospital for Joint Diseased, NYC. At Sound Shore Hospital patients can receive acupuncture in the hospital and in an out patient clinic. The internship trained students to work along side doctors/nurses/physical therapists when treating patients. The Hospital for Joint Diseases has a specialized unit dedicated to treating women stricken with multiple sclerosis. As part of their care, women can have acupuncture to elevate painful symptoms associated with multiple sclerosis. During breaks between semesters, Samantha observed with Jill Blakeway, L.Ac. and Frances Goodwin, L.Ac., in their NYC practices. Their practices provided an opportunity to gain experience treating women and difficult pain cases.
As part of her training, Samantha studied over 300 individual Chinese herbs for 1 year and personalized herbal formulas for over 2 years. She carries a Chinese herbal medicine diploma from the NCCAOM and can prescribe formulas for a variety of health issues. With some clients she is able to add Chinese herbs to enhance the healing process.
Post graduate work Samantha has completed includes:
- A 7 week intensive, advanced gynecology class taught by Elaine Stern, L.Ac. It focused on the most current treatments being developed in China and discussed treatment protocols for a wide variety of gynecological disorders including ovarian cysts, fibroids, infertility, severe PMS and insomnia.
- Studied with Lonny Jarrett, M.Ac. for over 2 years. Lonny’s program focuses on integration of physical symptoms with emotional well being. The course was an in depth exploration of how acupuncturists can help clients heal themselves by changing their emotional reactions to situations.
